Manuscripts must be the original work of the author.

Submissions should follow our genre specific guidelines (Satin Script, In Reflection, Vivid Edge).

Submission does not guarantee publication.

Response times vary; authors will be notified of our decision within 8-12 weeks.

publishing agreements

Bijou offers two publishing models: Traditional and Hybrid.

Terms, rights, royalties, and production responsibilities are clearly outlined in the publishing agreement.

Authors retain creative integrity, while Bijou ensures professional production standards.

Contracts are non-transferable without written consent from both parties.

copyright & ip

Authors retain copyright ownership in Hybrid Publishing while Bijou holds licensed rights for the term specified in Traditional Publishing agreements.

All original content submitted is considered confidential and will not be shared outside the publishing process.

Trademarked names, logos, and brand elements remain the property of Bijou Publications.

editing & production

All manuscripts undergo professional, developmental, line, and copy editing.

Authors collaborate with editors on revisions but final publication decisions rest with Bijou.

Production timelines vary per project; authors will receive a detailed schedule upon contract execution.

marketing & promotion

Bijou provides marketing support, including social media promotion, press releases, and author spotlights.

Authors are expected to participate in promotional activities, including interviews, book launches, and events, in good faith.

Any additional marketing services (book tours, speaking engagements, curated experiences) are available for authors signed to Bijou Publications, but may incur separate fees for authors signing on as clients for consulting services.

refund & payment

Payments for hybrid publishing packages, consulting sessions, and events are non-refundable once services commence.

Any additional services requested outside the original agreement will be involved separetly.

Bijou reserves the right to pause services until payments are received.

event & experience

Attendance at workshops, retreats, or showcase events may require registration and/or proof of purchase.

Bijou is not responsible for travel, lodging, or personal items.

Events are professional spaces; respectful conduct is required.

privacy & confidentiality

Author and client information is stored securely and used solely for publishing or consulting purposes.

Bijou will not share personal information with third parties without consent.

Print-on-Demand is a distribution method where books are printed individually as they are ordered, rather than in large bulk quantities. it allows authors to publish high-quality books without managing inventory or upfront printing costs. The option to order in bulk is still available for authors.

will i maintain the rights to my book?

All rights and royalties are clearly outlined in your contract.

what is included in a hybrid publishing package?

Packages typically include editing, design, formatting, distribution setup, project management, and strategy. Bijou’s hybrid model is intentionally high-end and curated; your book receives the same quality as our traditionally published titles.

do you assist with copyright and isbn registration?

Yes. We ensure all works are properly registered for legal protection and professional distribution.

who owns the intellectual property of my book cover or layout?

Ownership depends on the publishing model. All rights and licenses are clearly explained in your contract so authors fully understand what belongs to them.

do you require a deposit for publishing services?

Yes. All services and hybrid publishing packages require a non-refundable deposit to begin the project. The remaining balance will be paid through a structured planned.
